Cloudbusting 388

Stockholm´s Gamla Stan is mostly build around 1200. It is so much different than the places I usually go. The houses are tall and the streets are narrow. Just a small slice of the sky is visible from the deep cobbled stone streets. The photos become vertical almost by default as landscape mode is not so good here.

Sometimes the sky is just a hint or even less up there between the eaves.

Another better version by JC here.

Another better and sunny version by Susupetal here.

Just keep the clone-photos coming up and I´ll add them here. I just dived to this alley to duck a car and snapped this one quickly. Now I found out that it´s the most photographed alley in Gamla Stan. I feel so depressed that I want to take it off but I can´t do it anymore...I mean it´s one ice-cream cafe latte tourist hell, but still...keep them coming...

Amazing shots. The clouds in the blue sky in the first and the narrow lane in the second look cool.

I loved visiting Old Town... over twenty years ago, it was. And what a coincidence, check it out!

As a matter of survival, people must stay in good shape to navigate these streets!

Amazing perspective! That narrow alley, which is the narrowest in old town, is maybe the most photographed in Gamla Stan. I've made my contribution also.

Don't feel depressed, feel united :)

The first one is so good...!

Nice to compare the captures of the very narrow street: JC has it nicely golden brown and Susupetal light and sandy coloured - yellowish; you have it both, sandy & golden, and somehow more realistic..

Btw, only now I listened, for the first time ever Kate Bush's 'Cloudbusting'(your 'inspirer') and watched the video (see my link). That was quite touching, inventor-Daddy busting the clouds, and little Kate helping ;) --

If you're looking for sky in Gamla Stan, forward is certainly the wrong direction to be looking. And yet there are so many neat things to see and photograph in the Old City.
