Cloudbusting 389

These both views are cliches but I still like them. The first one is Helsinki seen from the deck of a boat. The view has been the same for decades and there must be millions of variations from this same view. The afternoon cumulus clouds reaching their peak above Helsinki just before the 5pm departure. Bye bye, Helsinki!

This is the view people see in half the cases when they arrive 9am to Sweden with a boat from Finland. The suburb of Gärdet in the western part of Stockholm. The clouds promise a lot.

Lovely shots.

They aren't cliches when you're seeing them for the first time, like I am. Love the clouds in the top one.

If memory serves correctly, Gardet is a pretty nice area. Great clouds and a wonderfully blue sky in both of these.

Both striking shots with excellent skies. It's interesting how you don't see any high rise buildings in that view of Helsinki. I wonder if they are not permitted, or if the development craze for skyscrapers just hasn't yet caught up...or maybe there's so much empty space elsewhere to build on!

Such interesting hues in those clouds in that first photo... beautiful.

Absolutely adorable takings for the day. The wisps look dramatic!

Maybe everyone who goes to Helsinki takes that shot, but not everyone goes there. The clouds in the second photo are fantastic.

Oh, I love it. The first one looks like a painting, the sky is unreal! The white building stands out the most.

Extreme longing to take the boat from Stockholm to Helsinki - a sort of Silja Line fever.
